Legendary actor Abid Kashmiri Passes Away

Legendary actor Abid Kashmiri, known for his contributions to Pakistani television, stage, and films, passed away at the age of 74 after a prolonged illness, his family confirmed on Thursday.

Abid Kashmiri had a prolific career, featuring in numerous TV dramas, stage performances, and films. He is survived by two sons and two daughters.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz expressed deep sorrow over his passing, offering condolences to the grieving family.

In 1988, Kashmiri received the prestigious Nigar Award for Best Comedian for his role in the film *Bazaar-e-Husn*. He also starred in popular films such as *Jeetay Hain Shaan Se* and *Aahat*.

His TV appearances included well-known dramas like *Lohari Gate*, *Suraj Ke Saath Saath*, *Teesra Kinara*, and *Apnay Log*. His portrayal of Gullu Badshah in the drama *Samundar* became a fan favorite.

Abid Kashmiri’s death marks the end of a remarkable era in Pakistan’s entertainment industry, leaving behind an unforgettable legacy.
