Loss of PKR 190 Billion Due to Strikes, Finance Minister

Federal Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb revealed that ongoing strikes in Pakistan are inflicting a staggering economic loss of approximately 190 billion rupees each day. He noted that while the government is making strides toward economic stability, the impact of strikes poses a significant challenge to these efforts.

During the conversation, Aurangzeb highlighted positive trends, including a reduction in the inflation rate to single digits, with further declines anticipated in the near future. He also hinted at the possibility of additional cuts to the policy rate, which could provide further relief to the economy.

The minister emphasized the negative consequences of strikes and protests, calling on those organizing such actions to reconsider their methods. He encouraged negotiation and dialogue as more productive avenues for resolving issues, as the economic repercussions of strikes greatly hinder national progress.
