Lt Gen. Asim Malik Appointed as National Security Adviser

 

 

Lieutenant General Muhammad Asim Malik, currently serving as Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), has been appointed as Pakistan’s new National Security Adviser (NSA).

According to an official notification issued on Wednesday, Lt Gen Malik has been given additional charge of the role of National Security Adviser.

Assumes Office Immediately

Sources confirm that Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik will immediately assume the responsibilities of the NSA position. The decision reflects the government’s confidence in his strategic expertise and leadership in national defense and intelligence affairs.

Lt Gen Malik brings with him extensive experience in security, intelligence operations, and defense policy, making him a key figure in shaping Pakistan’s future security framework.

This dual appointment is seen as a move to ensure closer coordination between military intelligence and national security policymaking during a critical period for regional and international affairs.
