Lt Gen (R) Nigar Johar Becomes RCCI’s Brand Ambassador for Women Empowerment

 

In a landmark initiative to promote gender inclusion and female leadership in Pakistan, the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) has officially appointed Lieutenant General (Retired) Nigar Johar Khan as its Brand Ambassador for Women Empowerment and women-oriented initiatives.

The announcement held at RCCI Headquarters. The event honored the achievements, resilience, and leadership of Pakistani women in business, academia, and public service.

Symbol of Progress and National Pride

Lt Gen (R) Nigar Johar, the first woman in Pakistan’s history three-star general. Her appointment reflects a broader vision to amplify women’s roles in shaping Pakistan’s future.

“Empowering women isn’t a choice—it’s a necessity,” she said during her keynote address. “I am honored to join RCCI in advancing the cause of gender equality and inclusion in all sectors of society.”

RCCI’s Vision: Women at the Forefront of Economic Development

RCCI President Usman Shahkat welcomed the announcement by praising Lt Gen Johar’s groundbreaking contributions.

“She is an icon of strength and perseverance,” he stated. “Her journey inspires not only women but all of Pakistan to challenge limitations and pursue excellence.”

Group Leader Sohail Altaf emphasized RCCI’s long-standing dedication to women’s empowerment.

A Voice for Solidarity and Humanitarian Unity

Lt Gen Johar also threw her support behind RCCI’s upcoming solidarity walk in support of Palestine, applauding the chamber’s efforts to stand with oppressed communities around the world.

“Global solidarity and compassion are vital in today’s world. RCCI’s commitment to humanitarian causes is a reflection of shared values and collective conscience,” she noted.

Leaders and Changemakers Attend the Ceremony

The event was attended by notable figures including Senior Vice President Khalid Farooq Qazi, Vice President Fahad Barlas, former RCCI presidents, members of the executive board, Director AIC Ijaz Qamar Kayani, and a large gathering of women entrepreneurs and professionals from across Pakistan.
