Muslim World League Denounces Israeli Airstrikes in Syria, Urges Global Response
The Muslim World League (MWL) has issued a strong condemnation of the recent Israeli airstrikes carried out on multiple locations within Syrian territory, according to a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency on Friday.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Issa, Secretary-General of the MWL and Chairman of the Organization of Muslim Scholars, sharply criticized Israel’s continued military aggression, describing it as a blatant violation of international law and a direct threat to the peace and stability of Syria and the wider region.
“The deliberate targeting of Syrian infrastructure and civilian areas not only undermines regional security but also contravenes all internationally recognized humanitarian and legal norms,” Al-Issa said in the official statement.
The MWL also called on the international community to take immediate, decisive action in response to what it termed as serious breaches of international law. The organization urged global powers and human rights bodies to uphold their responsibility in protecting sovereign nations from external aggression.
Expressing deep solidarity with the Syrian people, Al-Issa reaffirmed the League’s commitment to defending Syria’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity. He emphasized that the MWL stands with Syria against all acts that threaten its internal stability and national cohesion.
The Muslim World League, headquartered in Makkah, continues to be a leading voice in the Islamic world, promoting peace, humanitarian cooperation, and advocacy for justice in conflict-affected regions.
