
Myanmar Ambassador Meets Usman Tahir in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD — Syed Usman Tahir, Honorary Advisor to the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, met with H.E. U Wunna Han, Ambassador of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Pakistan, to discuss ways of strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation.
During the meeting, Usman Tahir presented books published by the Heritage Ministry showcasing Pakistan’s rich artistic traditions, including miniature paintings, calligraphy, and cultural heritage. He also highlighted the country’s diverse cultural legacy and ongoing initiatives to preserve and promote it.
Ambassador U Wunna Han expressed strong interest in expanding cultural collaboration, particularly in areas such as the Gandhara Civilization, community-based cultural projects, and joint artistic activities. He noted the potential for deeper engagement between the two nations through cultural diplomacy.
It was agreed that Ambassador U Wunna Han will soon meet Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, to explore further avenues of cooperation. Planned initiatives include cultural exhibitions, heritage workshops, and broader international cultural exchanges to strengthen people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Myanmar.
