Navruz Festival Promotes Unity and Cultural Harmony, Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev
The Navruz festival, a centuries-old tradition symbolizing renewal and unity, was celebrated with enthusiasm at the Uzbekistan Embassy in Islamabad. Ambassador Alisher Tukhtaev emphasized its significance in fostering peace and strengthening ties among nations.
Navruz, meaning “New Day,” has been observed for over 3,000 years across Central Asia, the Middle East, and South Asia, bringing people together beyond cultural and linguistic differences. The festival coinciding with Ramadan this year highlights the shared values of generosity and togetherness.
During the celebration, the Uzbek Embassy introduced sumalak, a traditional Navruz dish, symbolizing prosperity and patience, reinforcing the spirit of unity and goodwill. Ambassador Tukhtaev reaffirmed the strong historical and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Pakistan, emphasizing cooperation and people-to-people connections.
