NEPRA Reduces Electricity Tariff by 86 Paisa per Unit

The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has announced a significant reduction of 86 paisa per unit in electricity tariffs, attributed to the fuel cost adjustment for the month of August.

According to the latest notification, this reduction will provide relief to consumers in their October bills. For those who have already been billed, the adjustment will be applied in the upcoming November bills. However, NEPRA clarified that the reduction will not extend to K-Electric customers.

The adjustment comes after the Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) had initially proposed a 57 paisa per unit reduction. NEPRA’s decision to increase the cut provides additional relief to consumers amid fluctuating fuel costs.
