North Korea Tests AI-Powered Suicide Drones Under Kim Jong Un’s Supervision
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has overseen the latest test of AI-powered suicide drones, marking a significant advancement in the country’s military capabilities. According to state media KCNA, the drones are designed to loiter over target areas, identify enemy positions, and strike with precision.
During the inspection, Kim emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence in modern warfare, urging rapid advancements in unmanned technology. The test also included new reconnaissance drones capable of monitoring enemy activities on both land and sea.
In addition to drone testing, North Korea officially unveiled its first airborne early-warning (AEW) aircraft, enhancing its radar surveillance capabilities. Analysts believe the aircraft is a modified Russian-made Il-76 cargo plane, aimed at strengthening air defense systems.
Reports suggest that Russia has supplied North Korea with anti-air missiles and other defense equipment in exchange for Pyongyang’s support in the Ukraine conflict. North Korean troops deployed in Russia’s war are believed to have gained battlefield experience in drone warfare, further fueling the country’s military advancements.
With these developments, North Korea is prioritizing AI and drone technology, positioning itself as a growing threat in unmanned aerial combat.
