North Macedonia Nightclub Fire Kills 51, Over 100 Injured
At least 51 people have lost their lives, and over 100 others have been injured following a devastating fire at the ‘Pulse’ nightclub in the town of Kochani, authorities confirmed on Sunday.
Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski announced the tragic toll at a press conference, while Justice Minister Igor Filkov vowed that those responsible would be held accountable.
More than 80 injured victims were transported to hospitals and medical facilities in the capital, Skopje, as emergency services scrambled to respond to the catastrophe.
North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski described the incident as a “difficult and very sad day,” expressing condolences to the victims’ families and emphasizing the immeasurable loss.
Local media reports indicate that the fire erupted during a performance by the Macedonian pop group DNA, whose Instagram account confirmed their presence at the venue.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the blaze as the country mourns one of its deadliest nightclub tragedies.
