Hospitals across northern Gaza have been forced to close their doors, marking a grim milestone in the region’s worsening humanitarian crisis. The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that a lack of fuel, medical supplies, and continuous bombardments have rendered all healthcare facilities inoperable, leaving thousands of civilians without access to critical medical care.
The closures come as Gaza faces an unprecedented strain on its infrastructure, with repeated appeals for humanitarian aid going unmet.
Medical facilities that had been operating on emergency fuel supplies have now completely exhausted their reserves. The shutdown affects services ranging from emergency surgeries to neonatal care.
*”We’ve reached a point where we can no longer save lives,”* said Dr. Ahmed Youssef, a hospital administrator in northern Gaza. *”Patients who rely on machines for survival are dying before our eyes.”*
The United Nations has declared the situation in Gaza “beyond catastrophic,” urging immediate access for aid. International Red Cross teams have echoed the call, emphasizing the dire need for medical equipment, fuel, and food supplies to avert further loss of life.
Hospitals, which had become shelters for thousands of displaced families, are now unable to provide even basic services. Children, the elderly, and the injured are among the most affected, with no safe zones left in the northern regions.
