ISTANBUL — The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), at its 51st Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) session held in Istanbul, Türkiye, issued a strong condemnation of Israeli aggression against Iran and called for urgent steps to de-escalate regional tensions. Member states unanimously reaffirmed solidarity with Palestine, Kashmir, and Muslim communities facing oppression globally.
The OIC meeting, attended by foreign ministers and senior representatives from across the Muslim world, focused on Israeli military campaigns, Iran’s sovereignty, the Palestinian struggle, and broader regional stability amid rising global unrest.
Condemnation of Israeli Aggression and Support for Iran
The OIC:
- Firmly condemned Israel’s attacks on Iran, Syria, and Lebanon, calling them a violation of sovereignty and international law.
- Established an open-ended Ministerial Contact Group to support de-escalation and peaceful resolution in Iran.
- Called on the international community to take deterrent actions against Israel and hold it accountable.

- Condemned the 19-month-long Israeli campaign of genocide in Gaza and West Bank, including East Jerusalem.

- Expressed unwavering backing for the Arab-Islamic Plan for Gaza’s reconstruction, praised Egypt’s humanitarian efforts, and denounced Israel’s use of starvation and forced displacement as tools of war.
- Commended Jordan’s Hashemite custodianship over Al-Quds and reaffirmed Al-Aqsa Mosque’s sanctity under international law.
The OIC:
- Expressed strong support for Pakistan following unjustified strikes in Pakistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir.
- Emphasized strict adherence to the 10 May ceasefire and bilateral treaties, including the Indus Waters Treaty.
- Reiterated support for a peaceful resolution of all disputes between Pakistan and India, including Jammu and Kashmir.
- Condemned ongoing human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and reaffirmed the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.
The ministers:
- Welcomed diplomatic progress between Azerbaijan and Armenia and supported Azerbaijan’s post-conflict recovery and demining efforts.
- Condemned cultural destruction and expulsion of Azerbaijanis from Armenian territory.
- Supported Syria’s reintegration into regional systems and endorsed Türkiye-IsDB reconstruction collaboration.
- Reaffirmed sovereignty and territorial integrity of all member states.
Member states:
* Condemned Islamophobia, hate speech, and religious discrimination globally.
* Urged international action against racism and the stigmatization of Muslim communities.
* Reaffirmed support for the Rohingya Muslims and the ICJ case filed by The Gambia.
* Stressed the importance of interfaith dialogue, tolerance, and the protection of Muslim minorities.
The OIC:
* Welcomed the upcoming 2026 Islamic Summit in Azerbaijan.
* Commended the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan’s efforts to safeguard Islamic holy sites.
* Highlighted COMCEC’s role in promoting development cooperation across the Islamic world.
* Urged stronger diplomatic initiatives to resolve global conflicts and promote peace through multilateral frameworks.
