Operation Bunyān Marsūs Victory: May 10 Declared as ‘Day of Battle for Truth’
PM Announces National Commemoration and Shaheed Support Package
Pakistani Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has officially declared May 10 to be commemorated annually as the “Day of Battle for Truth” (Youm-e-Ma’raka-e-Haq), honoring the resounding success of Operation Bunyān Marsūs and the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces and civilians.
Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister emphasized that this national day will be observed with unity, enthusiasm, and patriotic spirit across the country. He praised the professional excellence of Pakistan’s armed forces, stating that their valor has raised the nation’s pride globally.
Comprehensive Shaheed Package Announced
As part of the national recognition, Prime Minister Sharif announced an extensive package for the families of martyrs and wounded individuals from the operation. “The state accepts full responsibility for the care of the children of our martyrs,” he said, affirming that the federal government will bear the complete cost of medical treatment for the wounded heroes of Ma’raka-e-Haq.
According to the official statement released, the families of civilian martyrs will receive financial assistance of PKR 10 million. Those injured during the operation will receive compensation ranging from PKR 1 million to PKR 2 million, depending on the severity of their injuries.
Support for Armed Forces’ Martyrs and Families
The families of martyred armed forces personnel will continue receiving full salary and allowances up to their official retirement age. In addition, their children will be granted free education up to graduation level. A marriage grant of PKR 1 million will also be provided for one daughter of each martyred soldier.
Increased Compensation for Injured Soldiers
Wounded members of the armed forces will receive financial support ranging from PKR 2 million to PKR 5 million, tailored to the level of injury sustained during the operation.
Government to Rebuild Affected Infrastructure
The federal government has also pledged to reconstruct homes and mosques damaged during Indian attacks. The Prime Minister reiterated that individuals serving in Pakistan’s defense, regardless of the front, will be acknowledged on a national level and honored with formal decorations for their service.
The official declaration underlines Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to recognizing and supporting those who safeguard its sovereignty and dignity. The newly established annual observance aims to instill national pride and solidarity, paying tribute to the unmatched sacrifices made during the historic operation.
