Over 122 Million Worshippers Visit Two Holy Mosques During Ramadan

Saudi Arabia’s General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced that more than 122 million worshippers visited the two sacred sites during Ramadan.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), a total of 122,286,712 visitors were recorded, including 16,558,241 performing Umrah, 75,573,928 offering prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah, and 30,154,543 visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.

To manage the unprecedented influx of worshippers, the authorities implemented advanced crowd-monitoring technology, including sensor readers at key entrances of the Grand Mosque. This real-time monitoring system helped optimize crowd control and improve operational efficiency in coordination with security and management teams.

Ramadan is the holiest month in Islam, drawing millions of pilgrims and worshippers from around the world to the Two Holy Mosques for prayers, Umrah, and spiritual reflection.
