Over 50 Palestinians Martyred in Gaza in 24 Hours Amid Intensified Israeli Strikes
At least 53 Palestinians have been Martyred in the past 24 hours as Israeli airstrikes and ground operations intensified across the Gaza Strip, according to the enclave’s Ministry of Health.
The deadliest assaults were reported in Khan Younis, located in the southern Gaza Strip, where approximately 25 people, including at least two children, were Martyred in multiple aerial attacks targeting residential neighborhoods. The city continues to suffer heavy bombardment despite being declared a humanitarian zone.
In central Gaza, five Palestinians were Martyred in an airstrike near Yafa Hospital in Deir al-Balah, with the total death toll in the area reaching at least ten over the day.
Northern Gaza also witnessed renewed violence. In Jabalia, four people were killed in artillery strikes on the Abed Rabbo neighborhood. In Gaza City, Israeli strikes in the Zeitun and Shujaiya districts claimed the lives of a father and daughter, with ten others killed in a separate attack.
The Health Ministry, governed by Hamas, reported that Israeli forces also targeted tents sheltering displaced families in Mawasi, a designated humanitarian zone west of Khan Younis.
Since Israel resumed its military offensive on March 18, following the collapse of a temporary ceasefire, nearly 500 children have reportedly been Martyred, underscoring the increasingly dire humanitarian situation.
Israeli officials have not commented on the most recent strikes but maintain that operations are aimed at dismantling Hamas’s military infrastructure. The renewed violence has prompted urgent international appeals for restraint and the protection of civilians.
The total number of Palestinian casualties since October 2023 has surpassed 33,000, with tens of thousands more wounded or displaced.
Humanitarian organizations continue to call for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded aid access, warning of a deepening crisis in the besieged enclave.
