Pak Suzuki CEO Meets SAPM Haroon Akhtar to Strengthen Pakistan-Japan Industrial Cooperation
Pak Suzuki’s CEO Hiroshi Kawamura met with Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production, Haroon Akhtar Khan, to discuss expanding industrial collaboration and strengthening Pakistan-Japan trade relations.
During the meeting, Hiroshi Kawamura congratulated Haroon Akhtar Khan on his new role and expressed confidence in enhancing economic and industrial partnerships between both nations.
Haroon Akhtar emphasized Pakistan’s growing potential in the automotive industry and highlighted opportunities for joint ventures that could drive technological advancements and innovation.
A key focus of the discussion was Pakistan’s shift towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation, aligning with the Prime Minister’s “Uraan” initiative to promote green energy solutions. The SAPM appreciated Pak Suzuki’s plans to establish a biogas plant in Manga Mandi, recognizing its role in renewable energy development.
The meeting also explored ethanol fuel integration in vehicles, engine adaptability, and the localization of auto parts manufacturing to strengthen Pakistan’s automotive sector. Haroon Akhtar reiterated the government’s commitment to boosting domestic production and reducing reliance on imports.
Additionally, both sides discussed collaborations on biogas and electric vehicle (EV) projects, reinforcing Pakistan and Japan’s shared vision for clean energy and innovation.
