Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has lauded Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as a visionary leader of the Muslim world, crediting him for uniting Islamic nations through a powerful blend of moral leadership, humanitarian values, and diplomacy.

Speaking at the launch event of the book “Recep Tayyip Erdogan: Tiger of Islamic World” by senior journalist Dr. Furqan Hameed, Tarar emphasized the unwavering bond between Pakistan and Türkiye, rooted in centuries-old shared values and people-to-people solidarity.
“President Erdogan is a people’s leader and a reformer whose leadership continues to inspire the Muslim Ummah,” Tarar said.
The Minister highlighted several hallmark Pak-Turk initiatives—such as the Lahore Metro Bus and waste management systems—as evidence of enduring bilateral cooperation, especially during Shehbaz Sharif’s tenure as Punjab’s Chief Minister.
Tarar linked modern collaborations to historical alliances, citing the Khilafat Movement as a foundational moment in Pakistan-Türkiye relations. He noted the “emotional chemistry” between both nations, recalling scenes of Turkish citizens celebrating Pakistan’s cricket victory over India in the streets of Istanbul and Ankara.
Tarar praised President Erdogan’s robust advocacy for Palestine, particularly on international platforms such as the United Nations, D-8 Summit, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization. He called Erdogan a “tiger of the Muslim world” whose leadership resonates far beyond Turkish borders.
“From natural disasters to global injustices, Türkiye has stood by Muslims worldwide, especially under President Erdogan’s leadership,” he added.
Tarar condemned the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, calling it a “gross violation of human rights,” and recognized Türkiye’s swift action in supporting refugees. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s humanitarian and educational support for Palestinian youth, stressing the country’s continued commitment to justice and solidarity.
Author Dr. Furqan Hameed, who heads the TRT Urdu Service, reflected on President Erdogan’s transformative political journey—from his early role as Mayor of Istanbul to his rise as a globally recognized statesman.
Dr. Hameed noted that Erdogan’s leadership style is grounded in public service, Islamic values, and democratic governance, and that his influence transcends national borders.
> “His admiration for Allama Iqbal and Türkiye’s connection with Pakistan represent a powerful spiritual and cultural bond,” he said.
The event was attended by dignitaries including ambassadors from Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Rwanda, as well as prominent journalists, scholars, and members of civil society. It served not only as a tribute to President Erdogan, but also as a reaffirmation of Pak-Turk friendship grounded in compassion, resilience, and shared aspirations.
