Pakistan, Romania Strengthen Bilateral Ties Through Parliamentary Friendship Group

Pakistan and Romania have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations through the Pakistan-Romania Parliamentary Friendship Group (PFG). A high-level meeting at the Parliament House focused on expanding cooperation in trade, technology, education, culture, tourism, health, and defense, according to an official press release.

The meeting was chaired by Danyal Chaudhary, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Information and Broadcasting, with participation from Zahra Wadood Fatemi, Aqeel Malik, and Sadiq Ali Memon. The Romanian delegation, led by Ambassador Dan Stoenescu, included Cristian-Stelin Coroma and Eduard-Robert Preda.

Discussions centered on revitalizing economic ties, particularly in renewable energy, automotive, agriculture, and cybersecurity. Ambassador Stoenescu reaffirmed Romania’s support for Pakistan’s trade interests in the EU, including the GSP+ status.

Both sides agreed to enhance parliamentary exchanges and diplomatic collaboration, aiming for long-term strategic cooperation in multiple sectors.
