ISLAMABAD — Pakistan and Bangladesh have reaffirmed their resolve to strengthen cooperation in the energy and mineral sectors, with a focus on limestone, coal, and petroleum products to boost economic growth and ensure energy security.
In a meeting held at Islamabad, Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik and Bangladesh High Commissioner Md. Iqbal Hussain discussed opportunities for exploration, trade, and investment in the energy and mineral industries.
Minister Malik highlighted Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s vision of promoting stronger ties with Bangladesh, saying:
“Pakistan deeply values its relations with Bangladesh and is eager to pursue joint ventures that will deliver long-term benefits for both nations.”
Both sides emphasized the importance of technology transfer, expertise sharing, and joint projects to maximize the potential of natural resources.
Ambassador Hussain welcomed Pakistan’s commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation, noting that enhanced trade and investment would support regional stability and prosperity.
