Pakistan and Saudi Arabia commitment to enhancing Pilgrim Services, Expand ‘Road to Makkah’ Project
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing Hajj and Umrah services for Pakistani pilgrims. Discussions focused on improving travel facilities, addressing registration challenges, and expanding the ‘Road to Makkah’ project to more cities in Pakistan.
In a high-level meeting, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf, and Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, explored ways to streamline pilgrimage processes.
The ‘Road to Makkah’ initiative, which facilitates pre-departure immigration clearance at Pakistani airports, has significantly reduced travel hassles for pilgrims. Plans are underway to extend this service beyond major hubs, ensuring faster and more efficient processing for a larger number of travelers.
Saudi Arabia reiterated its dedication to serving Pakistani pilgrims, with Dr. Al-Rabiah confirming that new initiatives would be introduced to further improve pilgrimage experiences. The discussion also addressed technical challenges in Hajj registration, with assurances that the Saudi government would implement swift solutions.
Pakistan acknowledged Saudi Arabia’s continuous efforts in enhancing pilgrimage facilities and appreciated the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting Pakistani travelers.
With stronger collaboration, both nations aim to ensure a seamless and comfortable journey for millions of Pakistani pilgrims undertaking Hajj and Umrah each year.
