Pakistan Announced to Repatriate 22 Pakistani survivors from the recent maritime incident
Reported by Syed Farzand Ali
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) has announced the repatriation of 22 Pakistani survivors from the recent maritime incident near Dakhla port, Morocco. Following thorough investigations and coordination with Moroccan authorities, the survivors will be returned to Pakistan in batches.
The Pakistani embassy in Rabat has been actively working with Moroccan officials to oversee relief efforts and finalizing repatriation procedures. A dedicated consular team in Dakhla has played a crucial role in managing the survivors’ return.
Additionally, the Foreign Ministry’s Crisis Management Unit (CMU) has been monitoring the situation, providing support, and staying in contact with the victims’ families. National identity verification, a key step in the process, has been expedited in collaboration with the Interior Ministry and relevant departments.
Meanwhile, the Foreign Ministry is also assisting in the return of 11 Pakistanis from Mauritania, who have voluntarily chosen to come back. Their repatriation will be handled separately.
The Pakistani government remains committed to the welfare of its citizens abroad and has pledged to continue providing necessary assistance and facilitation for their safe return. Further updates will be shared as the process moves forward.
