Pakistan, Azerbaijan Pledge to Strengthen Bilateral Ties
Pakistan and Azerbaijan have reaffirmed their commitment to enhancing bilateral cooperation in key sectors, including energy, investment, and tourism. This understanding was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Board of Investment, Privatization, and Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, and Azerbaijan’s Prime Minister, Ali Asadov, in Baku.
Prime Minister Ali Asadov welcomed Minister Abdul Aleem Khan and the Pakistani delegation, emphasizing the deep-rooted brotherhood between the two nations. He praised Pakistan’s recent economic developments and assured Azerbaijan’s support in fostering investment and mutual cooperation.
Minister Aleem Khan highlighted investment opportunities in Pakistan, particularly in the privatization of state-owned enterprises (SOEs). Both sides acknowledged that interstate relations had entered a new phase following Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Pakistan last year. Discussions covered strategic partnerships in trade, economy, and investments.
During his visit, Minister Aleem Khan also met with Azerbaijan’s Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, Transport Minister Rashad Nabiyev, Deputy Minister of Economy Samad Bashiri, and President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, Rovshan Najaf. The talks focused on expanding economic collaboration and strengthening energy cooperation between the two countries.
