
Pakistan Azerbaijan Vow to Deepen Trade and Investment Ties at ECO Summit

KHANKENDI — Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on Friday reaffirmed their commitment to deepening cooperation in trade and investment during a bilateral meeting held on the sidelines of the 17th Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) Summit in Khankendi.
The leaders expressed satisfaction over the progress achieved in exploring investment opportunities and vowed to further strengthen their economic partnership, with a particular focus on expanding Azerbaijan’s investments in Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who is leading Pakistan’s delegation to the two-day ECO Summit from July 3–4, praised Azerbaijan’s successful hosting of the event and expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and his team.
He also acknowledged the support extended by Azerbaijan to Pakistan during its recent conflict with India, describing it as a testament to the enduring brotherly ties between the two nations. Shehbaz Sharif reiterated Pakistan’s own steadfast support for Azerbaijan during difficult times and highlighted the momentum built through recent high-level engagements.
Concluding the meeting, the Prime Minister invited President Ilham Aliyev to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience to continue strengthening bilateral relations across diverse sectors.
