
Pakistan, Bangladesh Consulates in UAE to Boost Diaspora Welfare

DUBAI — The Pakistani and Bangladeshi consulates in the UAE have agreed to collaborate more closely on legal support, labor rights, and welfare services for their large expatriate communities.
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai hosted officials from the Consulate General of Bangladesh to share best practices in delivering legal assistance and welfare services to their respective diaspora populations. The meeting underscored both countries’ commitment to safeguarding the rights and well-being of their citizens living and working in the United Arab Emirates
Representing Pakistan were Head of Chancery Fawad Ali Khan and Community Welfare Attachés Imran Shahid and Junaid Murtaza. The Bangladeshi delegation included Counsellor and Head of Chancery Ashfaq Hussain, First Secretary (Labour) Shahanaz Parvin, and First Secretary (Consular) Abdullah Al Mamunur Rashid.
Discussions focused on improving legal awareness for low-income workers, enhancing cooperation with UAE authorities on labor rights enforcement, and strengthening dispute resolution mechanisms. Both sides stressed the need to empower consular welfare officers through targeted capacity-building initiatives
Officials agreed to establish regular coordination through joint workshops and knowledge-sharing initiatives aimed at better serving their communities. The consulates will also collaborate on developing unified outreach strategies to improve access to legal support and welfare services for Pakistani and Bangladeshi expatriates across the UAE.
