Pakistan Commemorates 27 Years as Nuclear Power, Nation Celebrates Youm-e-Takbeer with Zeal
Pakistan is proudly celebrating the 27th anniversary of its emergence as a nuclear power, observing Youm-e-Takbeer 2025 with full national spirit, unity, and respect for the country’s defense achievements.
The day began with special prayers and Quran recitations across mosques for peace, security, and the continued strength of the nation. Religious leaders highlighted the importance of May 28 in Pakistan’s defense history, calling it a symbol of national pride and resilience.
On this day in 1998, Pakistan conducted six successful nuclear tests in the Chagai region of Balochistan in response to India’s nuclear tests. This historic move not only restored strategic balance in South Asia but also made Pakistan the seventh nuclear-armed nation and the first Islamic country to achieve this milestone.
Public and private sectors held special events, flag-hoisting ceremonies, and commemorations. Tributes were paid to the scientists, engineers, and security forces who played a key role in the nuclear program. Citizens across the country expressed their gratitude and reaffirmed commitment to national unity and progress.
