Pakistan Condemns Israeli Airstrike on Gaza’s Baptist Hospital, Urges Global Action
Pakistan has issued a strong condemnation following the Israeli airstrike on Gaza’s Baptist Hospital, describing the act as a gross violation of international humanitarian law and an attack on religious sanctity.
In a statement released on Tuesday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan denounced the assault as part of a “systematic pattern” by Israeli forces targeting medical facilities.
Violation of International Law and Human Rights
The spokesperson underscored that the Israeli strikes have crippled Gaza’s already fragile healthcare system, leaving critically ill patients without access to life-saving treatment. He stressed that such actions, combined with the continued blockade of humanitarian aid, amount to a deliberate strategy to deepen the humanitarian crisis and prolong the conflict.
“These atrocities are not isolated incidents but represent a deliberate policy of targeting civilians and essential infrastructure,” he said.
Call for Immediate Ceasefire and Accountability
Pakistan called for an immediate cessation of hostilities and demanded that the Israeli occupation forces end their ongoing military aggression. The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the two-state solution, advocating for the establishment of a sovereign and independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with Al Quds Al Sharif as its capital.
Global Community Urged to Intervene
The spokesperson also urged the international community, including the United Nations and human rights organizations, to take urgent and decisive action to hold Israel accountable for its actions and to protect Palestinian civilians from further violence and displacement.
“The world must act now to prevent further bloodshed and ensure justice for the Palestinian people,” the statement concluded.
