ISLAMABAD — Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar declared that Pakistan had successfully dismantled India’s false hegemonic narrative, which sought to portray New Delhi as the so-called “net security provider” in the region.
Speaking at a press conference in London at the conclusion of his official visit to the United Kingdom, Dar said Pakistan’s resilience and decisive response in the recent armed conflict with India exposed the hollowness of Indian claims. The press briefing was broadcast live on national television channels.
“The Indian media and bureaucracy themselves have admitted that their narrative failed. In contrast, Pakistan’s position was rooted in truth and facts, which gained recognition globally,” Dar stated.
The Foreign Minister emphasized that Pakistan not only asserted air superiority but also “settled scores on the ground,” ensuring a decisive message to India. He urged Indian leaders to accept reality and move forward, noting that it was New Delhi, not Islamabad, that requested a ceasefire, a fact confirmed by U.S. Secretary of State Rubio during the May conflict.
Dar reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to sovereignty, territorial integrity, and dignity of all nations in the region, stressing that Islamabad expects the same respect in return.
The Deputy Prime Minister underlined that the government is focused on economic stability, highlighting a rise in foreign exchange reserves and declining inflation rates. He asserted that Pakistan will emerge stronger through unity and resilience, adding, “If we move forward with collective resolve, Pakistan will achieve its rightful place among the community of nations and join the D-20.”
Rejecting external pressure on holding talks on terrorism, Dar reminded the world that Pakistan is the biggest victim of terrorism, having sacrificed 90,000 lives and suffered $192 billion in losses while fighting the global war on terror. He noted that terrorism was completely eradicated in 2014 during former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s tenure.
Dar highlighted that Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts had also pushed the United States to designate Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and the Majeed Brigade as international terrorist organizations.
The minister described his bilateral and trilateral engagements with UK counterparts as highly productive, covering issues such as Kashmir, climate change, and counter-terrorism cooperation. He praised the role of the Pakistan High Commission in London in effectively projecting Pakistan’s stance during the recent conflict.
On aviation, Dar welcomed the EU’s decision to lift the ban on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) in November 2024, followed by the UK. He confirmed that PIA is in talks with British authorities to resume flights to Manchester in September, with plans to later expand operations to London.
Concluding his remarks, Dar called on the Pakistani diaspora to avoid political divisions and support the government’s vision of national progress, unity, and stability.
