Pakistan, Denmark Discuss $2 Billion Investment in Maritime Sector

Danish Ambassador Jakob Linulf and Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry held a high-level meeting to review progress on Denmark’s $2 billion investment in Pakistan’s maritime sector.

The discussions focused on implementing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year, aimed at modernizing port infrastructure, enhancing shipping efficiency, and promoting sustainable maritime practices.

Both sides explored further collaboration in green shipping, renewable energy for ports, and workforce development. Minister Chaudhry highlighted Denmark’s maritime expertise as a key driver for Pakistan’s economic growth and global trade expansion.

Ambassador Linulf reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and supporting sustainable maritime initiatives. The meeting concluded with an agreement to accelerate investment projects and explore new opportunities for trade and cultural cooperation.
