ISLAMABAD, The Government of Pakistan has strongly condemned the Israeli drone strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs and regions in southern Lebanon, carried out on June 5, a day before Eid al-Adha.

According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, the attacks represent a clear violation of international law, Lebanon’s sovereignty, and the terms of the November 2024 ceasefire agreement.

The Foreign Office expressed grave concern over the reckless use of force, warning that such actions not only endanger innocent civilian lives but also undermine regional peace and threaten efforts toward a sustainable resolution.

“The attacks have further inflamed tensions at a critical moment and disregard all principles of responsible international conduct,” the statement said.

Pakistan reaffirmed its full solidarity with the people and Government of Lebanon, extending support as they face the consequences of this aggression.

“Pakistan stands by Lebanon in this difficult time and denounces all forms of violence that compromise civilian safety and regional stability,” the statement added.

Calling on the United Nations and ceasefire mediators, Pakistan urged the international community to act decisively to prevent further escalation and to hold Israeli forces accountable for violating peace agreements and international norms.

“There must be immediate steps to de-escalate the situation and uphold justice and international law,” the spokesperson emphasized.

Pakistan concluded by reiterating its commitment to peace, justice, and international legal frameworks, urging collective global action to ensure security and uphold the sovereignty of all nations.
