
Pakistan’s Deputy PM Ishaq Dar Arrives in Dhaka for High-Level Bilateral Talks

Dhaka — Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, has arrived in Dhaka on a two-day official visit (August 23–24) at the invitation of the Government of Bangladesh.
Upon arrival at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, Senator Dar was received by Bangladesh’s Foreign Secretary Ambassador Asad Alam Siam, Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Bangladesh Imran Haider, Bangladesh’s High Commissioner to Pakistan Muhammad Iqbal Khan, and senior officials of the Pakistan High Commission.
During his stay, the Deputy Prime Minister will hold high-level talks with top Bangladeshi leadership, including:
- Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus
- Adviser for Foreign Affairs Md. Touhid Hossain
- Adviser for Commerce SK Bashir Uddin
The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity, and regional security, while also addressing international issues of shared interest.
Dar’s visit is being seen as a significant step towards revitalizing Pakistan–Bangladesh ties, aiming to boost economic collaboration, political engagement, and people-to-people exchanges. Officials in Islamabad described the trip as a move to “deepen mutual trust and explore new opportunities for partnership.”
