Pakistan Expresses Deep Concern Over Killing of Tourists in IIOJK Attack

Pakistan has strongly condemned the tragic killing of tourists in a recent shooting incident in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), expressing deep concern over the loss of innocent lives.

In an official statement issued Wednesday, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan voiced Pakistan’s distress over the attack that occurred in Anantnag district, where tourists were targeted by unidentified gunmen.

> “We deeply regret the loss of lives of tourists in IIOJK,” “We express our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and we pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”

Attack Claims Lives in Scenic Pahalgam Region

According to Kashmir Media Service, the attack took place in Baisaran, a picturesque meadow near Pahalgam, which is typically accessed by foot or on horseback. At least 27 non-local tourists were reported killed, and several others sustained injuries when gunmen opened fire on a group visiting the region.

Authorities in the area have launched a manhunt for the attackers, though no group has claimed responsibility for the assault.

Pakistan Urges Protection of Civilians

The Foreign Office emphasized the urgent need for protecting civilians and tourists in conflict zones and called for the international community to take note of the deteriorating security situation in IIOJK.

Pakistan has consistently highlighted human rights violations in the region and reiterated its stance on ensuring the safety of all non-combatants, including tourists and local residents.
