Pakistan Grants Visas to Indian Pilgrims for Visit to Katas Raj Temple

The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has granted visas to 84 Indian pilgrims, allowing them to visit the iconic Shree Katas Raj Temples in Chakwal, Punjab. The pilgrimage will take place from December 19 to 25, 2024.

The Katas Raj Temples, a Hindu heritage site over 900 years old, are situated in the village of Katas on the Choa Saidanshah road. The temple complex, which includes a sacred pond and a Shiva murti, continues to attract devotees seeking spiritual solace.

Pakistan’s Charge d’Affaires in New Delhi, Saad Ahmad Warraich, expressed his best wishes to the pilgrims, highlighting the importance of fostering cultural and religious connections.

These visas were issued under the 1974 Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines, which facilitates travel for religious purposes. This initiative reflects Pakistan’s commitment to promoting interfaith harmony and supporting cultural exchange between the two nations.
