ISLAMABAD — Pakistan has officially welcomed the signing of a landmark peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, marking a decisive step toward ending one of the Caucasus region’s longest-standing conflicts.
In a statement issued on Saturday, the Foreign Office Spokesperson described the accord as “a historic moment that reflects the wisdom and statesmanship of Azerbaijan’s leadership in resolving a prolonged dispute through peaceful means.”
The spokesperson expressed gratitude for the role of U.S. President Donald Trump in supporting mediation efforts, noting that his engagement helped advance the peace process.
“Pakistan acknowledges and appreciates the efforts of President Trump in fostering conflict resolution and promoting peace across different regions of the world,” the statement read.
