The High Commission of Pakistan in New Delhi marked Pakistan’s National Day with a grand reception, celebrating the historic Lahore Resolution of March 23, 1940. The event showcased Pakistan’s cultural heritage, traditional cuisine, and commitment to regional peace and cooperation.
A diverse gathering of diplomats, political leaders, business figures, media representatives, and civil society members attended the reception. The guests were welcomed by Charge d’Affaires Saad Ahmad Warraich at the Chancery’s lawns.
In his address, Warraich emphasized that the Lahore Resolution was a defining moment that ignited the Pakistan Movement, ultimately leading to the creation of an independent state under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He highlighted Pakistan’s progress towards becoming a modern, progressive Islamic welfare state, crediting the country’s youth, civil society, and media for driving national ambition.

Stressing the importance of diplomacy, he called for a constructive approach to address shared challenges and resolve longstanding disputes, including the Jammu and Kashmir issue. He expressed hope for a new era in Pakistan-India relations, built on mutual understanding and cooperation.
Coinciding with the festival of Nauroze, the event symbolized renewal and hope, reflecting the aspirations for a peaceful and prosperous South Asia.
