Pakistan High Commission in Ottawa Marks ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ to Honor National Unity and Armed Forces

 

The High Commission of Pakistan in Ottawa commemorated *Youm-e-Tashakur* with a special ceremony to honor the courage and unity demonstrated by the people of Pakistan and its armed forces during “Operation Bunyaan-um-Marsoos” and “Marka-e-Haq.”

The event, held at the High Commission premises, brought together members of the Pakistani diaspora and supporters of Pakistan from across Canada. The ceremony featured prayers for the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in defense of the homeland, paying homage to their unmatched valor and patriotism.

Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Muhammad Saleem praised the steadfastness of the Pakistani people, the country’s leadership, and its armed forces in the face of Indian aggression. He highlighted Pakistan’s measured and responsible response to the situation, noting the vital role played by friendly nations in promoting de-escalation.

The High Commissioner also reiterated Pakistan’s principled stance on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute. He stressed the importance of resolving the issue through dialogue in line with relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
