Pakistan Honors Top Civil and Military Leaders with Prestigious National Awards

Islamabad — Pakistan’s leadership recognized outstanding civil and military contributions with the country’s highest honors, including the Nishan-e-Imtiaz, Hilal-e-Jurat, Sitara-e-Jurat, and Sitara-e-Bisalat. President Asif Ali Zardari presided over the event, attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and top civil-military officials.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, received the Hilal-e-Jurat for exceptional leadership, combat excellence, and steadfast patriotism during some of Pakistan’s most challenging moments.
Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for exemplary service and strengthening Pakistan’s defense.

Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf earned the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for safeguarding maritime borders, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu was honored with the Hilal-e-Jurat for defeating enemy aerial threats.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar was commended for defending Pakistan’s stance on the international stage. Federal Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar was awarded for his strong position on the Indus Waters Treaty.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif was recognized for countering cross-border aggression, while Information Minister Attaullah Tarar received the Nishan-e-Imtiaz for effective information strategy during national challenges.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi was honored for preserving national unity, and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was awarded for effectively projecting Pakistan’s narrative internationally and exposing hostile agendas. Special Assistant Rana Sanaullah was recognized for fostering political consensus.

Members of the Prime Minister’s diplomatic delegation — including Sherry Rehman, Faisal Sabzwari, Hina Rabbani Khar, Khurram Dastgir Khan, and others — received the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for enhancing Pakistan’s foreign relations.

In the Pakistan Air Force, multiple officers including Wing Commander Bilal Raza and Squadron Leader Muhammad Yousuf Khan were awarded the Sitara-e-Jurat for their aerial excellence.
Martyrs, including Lance Havaldar Aamir Shiraz, Lance Naik Ikramullah, and Sepoy Adeel Akbar, received gallantry medals posthumously. Sepoy Nisar Ahmed Shaheed was awarded the Sitara-e-Bisalat.

High-ranking officers from the Army, Navy, and Air Force — including DG ISI Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik and DG ISPR Lt. Gen. Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry — were also decorated for distinguished service.

Concluding the ceremony, recipients reaffirmed their dedication to defending Pakistan’s sovereignty, upholding the national flag, and serving with honor, courage, and integrity.
