
Pakistan Hosts Kyrgyz Delegation to Boost Trade, Investment & Diplomacy

LAHORE — A high-powered delegation from the Kyrgyz Republic was warmly received at an exclusive reception hosted by Dr. Shahid Hasan, President of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House, as part of a diplomatic initiative to boost bilateral trade, education, and regional cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
Held at a prominent hotel in Lahore, the event brought together political dignitaries, diplomats, and business leaders to celebrate the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
The visiting delegation, led by Mr. Edil Baisalov, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, included Ambassador Kylychbek Sultan and 16 high-ranking officials. In his remarks, Mr. Baisalov expressed appreciation for the reception and acknowledged the enduring efforts of Dr. Shahid Hasan and Mr. Meher Kashif Younis, Chairman of the Kyrgyzstan Trade House, in fostering long-term bilateral relations.
Mr. Baisalov urged the Pakistani business community and trade chambers to strengthen business-to-business (B2B) and people-to-people ties, pointing to significant opportunities in pharmaceuticals, textiles, energy, and tourism. “Our bilateral trade still falls short of its potential,” he noted. “We hope this visit will pave the way for new agreements and joint ventures.”
He also revealed plans to deliver a personal message from Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov to Pakistan’s Prime Minister during an official meeting, reinforcing the importance his country places on the partnership.
Dr. Shahid Hasan welcomed the delegation and emphasized the importance of strengthening regional connectivity, particularly in education, science, trade, and technology. He said that Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan are well-positioned to develop a robust and mutually beneficial economic relationship.
Mr. Meher Kashif Younis, Chairman of Kyrgyzstan Trade House, lauded both governments’ shared commitment to strengthening ties across key sectors including science, education, culture, and commerce. He called for more frequent high-level exchanges to deepen mutual understanding and cooperation.
The Kyrgyz Ambassador Kylychbek Sultan also appreciated the efforts of the Trade House, underlining the importance of cultural diplomacy and public engagement in shaping future cooperation.
The Kyrgyz delegation will begin formal discussions with Pakistani officials on Monday, July 28, 2025, focusing on enhancing economic cooperation, investment opportunities, and trade facilitation. Meetings will involve senior members of various ministries and leading business stakeholders.
