Pakistan, Iran Vow Enhanced Security Cooperation During High-Level Military Meeting
Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi met with Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Syed Asim Munir, at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi to discuss strengthening defense ties and advancing regional peace efforts.
The two leaders held comprehensive talks focused on the changing regional security dynamics, highlighting the importance of joint efforts to address mutual security concerns. A key topic was the enhancement of the existing Pak-Iran border coordination mechanism aimed at ensuring improved stability and preventing cross-border threats.
General Munir underscored the enduring relationship between Pakistan and Iran, rooted in shared cultural, religious, and historical values. He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening strategic ties with Iran and working together to promote peace in the broader region.
Foreign Minister Araqchi stressed Iran’s readiness to expand bilateral cooperation, especially in the areas of defense and counterterrorism.
