Pakistan, Maldives Strengthen Naval Ties Amid AMAN-25 Maritime Exercise

Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf met with Maldives’ Chief of Defence Force, Major General Ibrahim Hilmy, on Thursday to discuss bilateral defense cooperation and regional security matters. The meeting, held at Naval Headquarters in Islamabad, emphasized mutual commitment to maritime security and collaboration.

Major General Hilmy, currently in Pakistan to participate in the AMAN Dialogue, praised the Pakistan Navy’s efforts in promoting collective maritime security in the region. Admiral Naveed Ashraf reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to strengthening its defense partnership with Maldives, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts to address evolving maritime challenges.

The AMAN Dialogue, conducted alongside the multinational naval exercise AMAN-25, serves as a strategic platform for discussions on maritime security, counter-piracy measures, and regional stability. Admiral Ashraf expressed his appreciation for the Maldivian delegation’s participation, underscoring the event’s role in fostering regional and global cooperation.
