ISLAMABAD/JEDDAH —The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and Pakistan have strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing military aggression in Gaza, calling for an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilians, and accountability for war crimes.

During the 21st Extraordinary Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Jeddah, OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha demanded an unconditional ceasefire, withdrawal of Israeli forces, and an end to what he described as war crimes, forced displacement, settlement expansion, and the illegal blockade of Gaza. He warned that Israel’s continued atrocities amounted to genocide and ethnic cleansing, requiring urgent international legal action.

Dar outlined a seven-point framework to address the crisis, calling for:

  1. Immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.
  2. Unhindered humanitarian aid and protection for medical staff, aid workers, and UN personnel.
  3. Stronger international backing for UNRWA to sustain relief operations.
  4. End to forced displacement and illegal settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
  5. Implementation of the Arab-OIC reconstruction plan for Gaza’s recovery.
  6. Revival of a political process toward a two-state solution with pre-1967 borders and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital.
  7. Accountability for Israeli war crimes, including violations of international humanitarian law.

“The Palestinian people do not seek sympathy; they demand justice, freedom, and an end to occupation. Another Nakba cannot be allowed,” Dar said, urging the Muslim world to act with unity and determination.

OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha echoed Pakistan’s concerns, condemning Israel’s attacks on civilians, hospitals, schools, UN facilities, and refugee camps. He described these acts as systematic violations of international law, amounting to ethnic cleansing and genocide.

He also criticized Israel’s settlement expansion in Jerusalem and assaults on journalists, stressing that such actions defied the UN Charter and international norms.

Both Pakistan and the OIC welcomed growing recognition of Palestine as a sovereign state and urged more countries to extend recognition. Dar emphasized that peace in the Middle East will remain unattainable until Israel ends its illegal occupation.

He further warned against provocations at Al-Aqsa Mosque, calling them “intolerable violations” and a direct threat to Muslim unity.

“Palestine is a priority for Pakistan. As a member of the UN Security Council, we will continue mobilizing global support for the Palestinian cause,” Dar reaffirmed.

Dar and the OIC called on the UN Security Council to enforce Resolution 2735 and consider deploying an international protection force in Gaza to safeguard civilians. They stressed that the credibility of the international order depends on ensuring justice for the Palestinian people.
