Pakistan, OIC EU Observer Strengthen Dialogue on Kashmir and Palestine
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the European Union, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, held an important diplomatic meeting with Ambassador Abdulkhaleq Ali Saeed Bindhaaer Al Yafei, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation’s (OIC) Permanent Observer to the EU.
Focus on Kashmir
During the meeting, Ambassador Qureshi highlighted ongoing concerns about the situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). He stressed that India continues to misrepresent facts and push misleading narratives about the region on international platforms.
Ambassador Qureshi also appreciated the OIC’s firm support, particularly the recent visit of Ambassador Yousef M. Al Dobeay, the OIC Secretary General’s Special Envoy on Jammu and Kashmir, to Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
Discussion on Palestine
Both diplomats also addressed the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Palestine, expressing deep concern over ongoing violence. They agreed that the international community must act urgently to safeguard human rights and pursue a peaceful resolution.
Bilateral Cooperation in Brussels
Ambassador Qureshi and Ambassador Al Yafei discussed ways to deepen engagement between Pakistan and the OIC at the EU level. They emphasized the need to strengthen joint efforts in promoting the causes of Muslim communities through active diplomacy and information sharing.
“Our partnership within the EU will continue to grow stronger as we advocate for justice and peace,” Ambassador Al Yafei stated.
