Islamabad – Pakistan and Poland have agreed to strengthen cooperation to create greater employment opportunities for Pakistani workers in Poland, reflecting the growing depth of bilateral ties between the two countries.
The development came during a meeting between Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, and the Polish Ambassador to Pakistan, Maciej Pisarski, in Islamabad.
Minister Hussain highlighted that Pakistan exported $450 million worth of goods to Poland over the past year, particularly in textiles, leather, and sports goods. He added that 742,000 Pakistanis secured overseas jobs in the last year alone, positioning Pakistan as the fourth-largest exporter of workforce worldwide.
He also noted that pilot programs with South Korea and Japan had already created employment opportunities for Pakistanis abroad, and expressed optimism that similar collaborations with Poland would open new avenues.
Ambassador Pisarski confirmed that employment opportunities are available for Pakistani workers in Poland, while assuring that measures have been tightened to control illegal immigration. Minister Hussain reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to addressing the issue through strict enforcement.
The Polish envoy also extended condolences over the loss of life and property caused by recent floods in various parts of Pakistan.
Poland’s Foreign Minister is scheduled to visit Pakistan in October 2025, during which the two countries are expected to sign multiple Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) aimed at enhancing cooperation in employment, trade, and bilateral relations.
