ISLAMABAD – The Foreign Office of Pakistan has reiterated its long-standing invitation to India for meaningful and result-oriented dialogue, emphasizing that the decision now lies with New Delhi. Pakistan urged its eastern neighbor to adopt a policy that promotes peace and cooperation rather than confrontation.

Addressing the weekly press briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated, “Pakistan has always supported peaceful resolution of disputes. We await India’s response to our offer for serious negotiations.”

She informed the press that Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar is currently on a diplomatic mission to the United States, where he held separate meetings with UN Secretary-General António Guterres and the President of the UN General Assembly.

During these interactions, Dar raised serious concerns regarding the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and occupied Palestine, calling for a ceasefire, humanitarian access, and a lasting solution based on the two-state model.

“Foreign Minister Dar condemned Israeli attacks on hospitals and schools in Gaza and urged immediate international intervention,” the spokesperson stated.

Under Pakistan’s presidency at the UN Security Council, Resolution 2788 was adopted unanimously, reaffirming the UN Charter’s emphasis on peaceful conflict resolution. The resolution highlights the urgent need for diplomatic efforts in global conflict zones.

Pakistan also called attention to Jammu and Kashmir, reinforcing its principled stance on self-determination and human rights. “Whether it is Kashmir or Palestine, Pakistan believes in diplomacy, law, and justice,” said Shafqat Ali Khan.

Shafqat Ali Khan confirmed a trilateral meeting between Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan, focusing on the development of a strategic railway corridor project to enhance regional connectivity.

In addition, she reported successful political consultations between Pakistan and the European Union held in Brussels, aimed at deepening cooperation on trade, security, and human rights.

“Diplomacy is not a favor—it’s a tool for mutual interest. Pakistan remains committed to principled, peaceful engagement,” she emphasized.
