
Pakistan Reaffirms Support for Lebanon Lebanon’s sovereignty, integrity and Regional Crisis

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity while condemning Israel’s recent military actions against the country.
In a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, Shahbaz Sharif welcomed the recently brokered ceasefire in Lebanon and called for similar efforts to ensure peace for Palestinians. The prime minister underscored the historic bonds of friendship between Pakistan and Lebanon, assuring that Pakistan stands in solidarity with the Lebanese people during these challenging times.
Pakistan has already extended humanitarian aid to Lebanon and remains prepared to offer additional support. The leaders also exchanged views on the ongoing crisis in Syria. Shahbaz Sharif urged Lebanon’s assistance in facilitating the evacuation of Pakistani nationals stranded in Syria through Beirut.
Prime Minister Mikati expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support and emphasized the shared values underpinning their bilateral ties. He pledged Lebanon’s full cooperation in ensuring the safe return of stranded Pakistanis.
Following the conversation, Prime Minister Shahbaz instructed Pakistan’s ambassadors in Lebanon and Syria to provide all necessary assistance to stranded nationals, ensuring their safe evacuation at the earliest opportunity.
