
Pakistan, Russia Explore New Cultural and Heritage Cooperation

Islamabad — The Educational and Cultural Attaché of the Russian Federation, Ms. Alina Kolesnikova, met with Syed Usman Tahir, Honorary Advisor to the Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, on Friday to discuss new avenues of cultural collaboration between Pakistan and Russia.
Both sides emphasized that the historic civilizational ties between Pakistan and Russia provide a strong foundation for deeper cooperation. They agreed that cultural exchange programs, joint heritage initiatives, and collaborative projects would help enhance mutual understanding and bring the two nations closer.
Mr. Tahir highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to intercultural dialogue, noting that cultural diplomacy not only strengthens bilateral relations but also promotes people-to-people connectivity. He assured Russia of Pakistan’s readiness to host exhibitions and events showcasing Russian art, heritage, and intellectual traditions for local audiences.
Ms. Kolesnikova praised Pakistan’s rich and diverse cultural heritage and expressed Russia’s strong interest in broadening cooperation, particularly in the fields of heritage preservation and performing arts. She reaffirmed Moscow’s willingness to work closely with Pakistan’s National Heritage and Culture Division to launch meaningful initiatives that foster long-term cultural partnerships.
She also pointed out that the recent visit of Pakistan’s Minister for Culture to Russia has created new momentum for bilateral engagement and will pave the way for future joint cultural and heritage projects.
