Pakistan, Saudi Arabia Sign 2025 Hajj Agreement: 179,210 Pilgrims to Perform Hajj
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have formally signed the annual Hajj agreement for 2025, with Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain and Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah leading the signing ceremony.
The agreement allows 179,210 Pakistani pilgrims to perform Hajj this year, with a commitment to enhanced facilities, including special accommodations in Mina at reduced rates.
Dr. Al-Rabiah assured that Saudi Arabia would provide full support to ensure a comfortable experience for Pakistani pilgrims. Additionally, a short Hajj program of 20 to 25 days has been reintroduced, offering flexible accommodation options in Madina for four to eight days.
Pilgrims will receive a specially designed identification bag featuring the Pakistani flag and a QR code containing essential details. A dedicated mobile app will also provide real-time updates on flight schedules, accommodation, training sessions, and live maps of key Hajj sites.
Chaudhry Salik Hussain will attend a four-day international Hajj conference and expo in Jeddah, where further agreements will be made with service providers. He reviewed preparations for Hajj 2025 during a meeting with Dr. Al-Rabiah, emphasizing Pakistan’s commitment to ensuring superior services for pilgrims.
Hussain lauded the efforts of Saudi leaders, including Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman, for their dedication to serving pilgrims. He highlighted the strong historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, expressing hope for enhanced economic and investment collaboration.
Dr. Al-Rabiah praised the enduring relationship between the two nations and reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to serving Pakistani pilgrims, who constitute a significant portion of annual Hajj attendees.
The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, along with members of the Pakistani delegation, including Secretary of Religious Affairs Zulfiqar Haider.
The 2025 Hajj agreement underscores the commitment of both countries to facilitating a seamless and spiritually fulfilling experience for pilgrims.
