Pakistan, Saudi Arabia to Establish Joint Committee for Film and Documentary Production

 

Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have agreed to establish a joint committee to promote collaboration in the production of films, documentaries, and music.

The agreement was reached during a meeting between Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting, National Heritage, and Culture, Attaullah Tarar, and Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Media, Salman bin Youssef Al-Dosari, on the sidelines of the Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh.

Expanding Media Cooperation

The two ministers also discussed:
✅ Bilateral Media Exchange Programs – Training opportunities for journalists from both nations.
✅ Joint Efforts Against Fake News – Strengthening credibility in media reporting.
✅ Investment in Digital Media & Technology – Opportunities for collaboration in AI-driven content creation.

Tarar praised Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, acknowledging the leadership of King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in transforming the kingdom into a global commercial and cultural hub.

Strengthening Cultural & Economic Ties

The Pakistani minister highlighted the strong brotherly relations between the two nations, now evolving into an economic and cultural partnership. He noted that Pakistan sees Saudi Arabia as a second home and remains committed to deepening cooperation in various sectors.

The Saudi Media Minister reaffirmed Saudi Arabia’s commitment to enhancing media ties with Pakistan, emphasizing the valuable contributions of the Pakistani community to the kingdom’s development. He also announced that the next meeting of the Saudi-Pakistan Supreme Coordination Council will be held in Pakistan.

Media Collaboration

The establishment of the joint media committee marks a significant step in fostering cultural exchange and co-productions, paving the way for stronger storytelling, content innovation, and digital transformation in both nations.
