
Pakistan Secures First Victory in Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024

Pakistan earned their first win in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy 2024 during their third match of the tournament.
According to media reports, Pakistan defeated Japan 2-1 in a match played in Hohhot, China. Nadeem Ahmed put Pakistan ahead early with a goal in the first quarter, but Japan equalized in the second quarter.
However, in the 10th minute of the second quarter, Sufiyan Khan struck again to restore Pakistan’s lead, which they held on to until the final whistle.
Prior to this victory, Pakistan had drawn both of their opening games—2-2 against South Korea and the same scoreline against Malaysia.
Pakistan is set to face their arch-rival India in their final pool match on September 14, 2024, at 12:30 PM PST.
The semi-finals of the Men’s Asian Champions Trophy 2024 are scheduled for September 16, with the final on September 17.
