ISLAMABAD — The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels celebrated the nation’s rich cultural diversity at the Annual Brussels Heritage Day 2025, one of the Belgian capital’s most anticipated cultural events.
The event was formally inaugurated by Ambassador Rahim Hayat Qureshi, Pakistan’s envoy to Belgium, Luxembourg, and the European Union. He emphasized the role of cultural diplomacy in fostering mutual understanding and enhancing people-to-people ties between Pakistan and Europe.
The embassy premises were transformed into a vibrant cultural hub, featuring traditional handicrafts, colorful costumes, scenic photography, and displays of Pakistan’s leading export products. Visitors enjoyed exploring stalls of artisanal goods, a henna corner, and family-friendly interactive spaces, including recreational activities for children.
One of the main attractions was the culinary section, where guests tasted authentic Pakistani and Kashmiri cuisine, offering a glimpse into the country’s renowned gastronomic heritage. Documentaries, books, and tourism information booths also provided visitors with deeper insights into Pakistan’s history, traditions, and travel opportunities.
Brussels Heritage Day is a signature annual event, during which embassies, government institutions, and historic buildings open their doors to the public. Pakistan’s active participation this year reaffirmed its commitment to cultural exchange and highlighted its efforts to promote national heritage to a global audience.
“By showcasing our culture, traditions, and hospitality, we are strengthening bridges of friendship with the people of Belgium and beyond,” Ambassador Qureshi remarked.
