Pakistan, in collaboration with 12 other nations, marked the vibrant festival of Nowruz at the UNESCO Headquarters on Wednesday, celebrating the spirit of peace, renewal, and cultural diversity.

The event was attended by diplomats, dignitaries, and community members, who experienced the rich traditions, music, and cuisine associated with Nowruz. Traditional performances captivated audiences, while cultural exhibitions provided insights into the diverse customs of participating countries.

A major highlight of Pakistan’s presence at the event was its culinary showcase. Guests indulged in shami kebabs, aromatic basmati biryani, and refreshing lassi, offering a taste of Pakistan’s rich gastronomic heritage.

Nowruz, marking the arrival of spring, is recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH). Pakistan has been a key proponent of this tradition, jointly registering the festival alongside 12 other nations to promote its significance globally.

The well-attended event underscored Pakistan’s ongoing commitment to cultural diplomacy, using festivals like Nowruz to foster international unity and cross-cultural understanding.

With its vibrant participation, Pakistan reaffirmed its dedication to preserving heritage, promoting global peace, and strengthening ties through cultural exchange.
